3WE ARE HIRING!!

All sale work shifts are filled with Seasonal Employees. All Employees will need to fill out State/Fed Tax forms.

Work shifts may be canceled or removed from schedule before or during the sale.

Workers may be cut early if work is complete early, so workers would be paid for the time worked, not for the length of the shift.

ALL SHIFTS ARE PAID!!

MO PAY SCALE:

Cashiers $13.30/hr

Floor shifts $12.30/hr

Rack Set Up/Tear Down Crews $15.30/hr

IL PAY SCALE:

Cashiers $15/hr

Floor shifts $14/hr

Rack Set up/Tear Down Crews $17/hr

AM/AFTERNOON/EVENING/WEEKEND SHIFTS AVAILABLE!!

Payroll checks mailed within 21 days of sale

Payroll is submitted to the accountant after the sale. Once payroll totals are complete, payroll checks are written and mailed to address on file. Typically payroll checks are mailed within 14 days after sale. If there are delays, like missing paperwork for workers, you will be notified.

Team Member Policy

  • Please arrive 10 min prior to shift for training. Be sure to sign in to receive credit!!
  • NO children are allowed during shifts, for safety purposes.
  • Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing!
  • To be fair to shoppers and other Team Members helping, we ask that you not shop or pull items from the sales floor during your shift.
  • Snacks and water will be available during all shifts. A fridge and microwave is provided. Breaks will be given during each shift.
  • Please allow time for item drop-off before or after you shift, if applicable.

**NOTE** 

Last minute cancellations leave us understaffed and in a huge bind, unable to serve our Shoppers.

Shifts must be rescheduled/cancelled by the following dates, to avoid penalty:
Springfield MO Sale: 8pm Sat. Mar 9, 2024
Springfield IL Sale: 8pm Sat. Apr 7, 2024

Peoria IL Sale: 8pm Sat. Apr 27. 2024

If unable to fulfill your shift after the deadline, please text Julie at 417-496-5837 ASAP!
If you do not fulfill your shift, you will not be allowed to help at future Trading Hands events.
We realize that unforeseen circumstances can arise. We will evaluate each circumstance on a case-by-case basis.

Job Descriptions

Shifts available throughout sale week for the following jobs. Please note some shifts are not suitable for those pregnant or with certain health issues. We can always find a position if you have limited mobility, etc. or if shift times do not work with your schedule. Feel free to email us: Julie@tradinghands.net

Rack Set-Up

Unloading and setting up wooden racks and electrical conduit. Lots of walking/lifting. Spouses and reliable teens 16 and older welcome! If you own work gloves or a drill, that would be helpful!

Sale Set-Up

Setting up and moving tables, clothing racks, baskets & signs, unpacking supplies. Lots of walking/lifting. 
This is not a shift for pregnant moms or those with joint/health issues.

Rack Tear Down

Breaking down and moving tables/racks, packing supplies, loading trailer. Spouses and reliable teens 16 and older welcome! Lifting/walking/standing is required.
This is not a shift for pregnant moms or those with joint/health issues.

Sale Tear Down

Packing up electronics, office supplies, signs, loading trailer, etc. Lifting/walking required but not a heavy duty position.

Inspection

Perfect for those with an eye for detail. You will be inspecting consignor clothes/shoes and other items as they come in. Inspectors watch for stains, missing buttons, excessive wear, seasonally appropriate, proper tagging, etc. Plus, you get a sneak peek at all the great stuff!

Help During Sale Hours

 During sale hours, help is needed to greet shoppers at the front door or help shoppers locate specific items, return items to sales floor, assist shoppers with large purchase, security, helping in Hold Area, etc. You will be on your feet for this shift and lifting may be required.

Organizers

Love to organize and arrange? This is for you! We will get the sales floor organized and tidy before the sale opens. Includes: arranging shoes, toys, bedding and everything else by category, arranging large items neatly.

Sort

 During this shift, all unsold merch must be sorted back to the consignor.  You will be able to take home your unsold items and Springfield MO/Springfield IL workers can get their check after this shift. without returning for Pick-Up! Ability to lift/walk/stand for long periods is required for this shift.
This is not a shift for pregnant moms or those with joint/health issues.

Pick-Up

Help consignors during Pick-up, check items as Consignors leave. Help load donated items.
